Alton ChristensenChristensen’s has been serving our Southern Utah communities for over 85 years. In the beginning of the Great Depression, 1929, Alten Christensen took out a loan and started his nickel and dime store on main street in Richfield, Utah. In the beginning he lived in the back room and sold everything from food to shoes. He eventually moved out and evolved the store into Southern Utah’s finest full-service department store. Alten was known for taking care of his customers and had a reputation of honesty and integrity that was not outdone by anyone. Alten’s favorite department was the Candy. He could be found “sacking candy” with his grandchildren up until his passing at the age of 97.

Today, Alten’s children and grandchildren continue the tradition of providing great customer service that Alten provided on Main Street in 1929!
